Students must meet entrance requirements for the MAT program, which include a minimum 2.7 GPA plus all undergraduate and certification requirements. Acceptance into the MAT program is competitive. Enrollment in the MAT is full-time and classes begin in the second summer session. Students are advised on certification requirements in the department of their major. Anyone who has earned a bachelor's degree may be eligible for the Non-Traditional Licensure Program, administered by Arkansas Department of Education. This program allows qualified individuals to begin teaching while obtaining the skills and knowledge to be successful in the classroom. Interested individuals should contact the ADE Office of Teacher Quality at 501-371-1580 by mid-March.
