"Premedical" is not a major, but a pre-professional curriculum required for medical school. The primary contact for pre-medical advising is Dr. Jeanne McLachlin, Associate Director Premedical Program, SCEN 625. However, except for first-year biology majors, she will not be your academic advisor in your major. Most premedical students will have a major advisor and a premedical advisor during their college career. Please see the information below for more details. Contact the Advising Center if you have any questions.
For registration advising, come prepared knowing what courses you have completed and what courses you still need. You can view your completed courses through your Student Center on ISIS. Print off and complete the appropriate advising checksheet from the Major Checksheets link in the Degree Planning section. Please bring this with you to the advising appointment.

You will see the Honors advisor in your major department first and then attend one of Dr. Neil Allison’s premedical advising sessions. These sessions are designed specifically for Junior and Senior-level students to cover changes that pertain to applying to medical school. The times and locations will announced on the premedical society (AED) student listserv and will be posted on the AED website. For departmental advising information, go to the My Advisor page and click on your major.
Call or come by the Advising Center, 575-3307, MAIN 518, to arrange an appointment. If you miss the opportunity to schedule an appointment, a walk-in advising period will be available the week before priority registration begins. Click here for more details. After you have seen your advisor, you should also attend a premedical group advising session in SCEN 606 during the priority registration advising period. Information on the group advising sessions will be posted on the Advising Center homepage as registration advising approaches.
