My Educational Plan

My Educational Plan:

My Major Checksheets and Minor Checksheets tell me my academic requirements and are used to keep track of my academic progress.

My Core courses are designed to give me a broad education. These general education requirements vary depending on my Fulbright College degree. My Core Reference Guide outlines these differences. My Core Course Descriptions describe each course in detail.

Eight Semester Plans are designed specifically for students who signed up for a plan during freshman orientation. These 8 Semester Templates can be used as a model for creating my educational plan.

My Secondary Education:

For my Secondary Education plan I will complete a Fulbright bachelor’s degree in an approved subject area I’d like to teach.

Along with completing a four-year degree, I will complete education courses to prepare for the Master of Arts in teaching secondary education grades 7-12. Also, I will complete any additional state licensure requirements for the subject area.

My Pre-Medical:

For my Pre-Medical plan I will receive guidance and advising through the Liebolt Premedical Program. While "pre-med" is not a major, I do need to complete specific course requirements for medical school such as those listed here. My premedical advisor is Dr. Jeanne McLachlin, Associate Director Premed Program, SCEN 625, 575-5348.

My Pre-Allied Health:

For my Pre-Allied Health plan I will research allied health professions, admission requirements, application deadlines, and shadow a professional in the field I am interested in.

I will contact my program of choice early and learn about the requirements and pre-requisites, but also keep alternative school choices in mind.

I will have a “Plan B” if my chosen field and/or school does not work out.

I will ask professors and/or other professionals for recommendation letters.

My Educational Resources:

My Educational Resources are services that the University provides to help me succeed during college.

My Academic Performance Review (APR):

My APR is when I can talk with my advisor about my academic standing.

My academic standing is determined at the end of each semester and is based on my cumulative and semester GPA.

I will receive an e-mail from my advisor if I have below a 2.0 and need to come by to discuss my Academic Standing.
